Civic Engagement

Stephenson partners with non-profits, government agencies and other foundations to advance the pragmatic application of the liberal arts. Grants from the EPA, the Florida Humanities Council, Associated Colleges of the South, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and the Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation have funded projects. Stephenson also hosts speakers and conferences at Rollins College, such as the Florida Chapter of the Congress for New Urbanism and Florida Studies: A Pragmatic Vision for Future Curriculum Reform (see this link).

Expertise provided to public and private planning entities, delivering community-driven planning solutions. Projects include master plans integrating place-making, green infrastructure and transit-oriented development, designs for complete streets, and bicycle master plans.
